Chair-X is a prototype within the Modular Transformable Furniture System, a design approach inspired by building-block logic, where standard modules are combined and decomposed to generate new functional configurations.
As a Tensile Chair, the structure is defined by two complementary elements: rigid compression rods, CNC-machined from aluminium alloy, and flexible tension cables and fabric, made of nylon. The tension elements are knotted and stretched to stabilize the system, while the compression rods provide strength and rigidity.
Together, these two forces create a complete tensile–compressive equilibrium, enabling the chair to embody both structural clarity and functional adaptability—an elegant integration of engineering principle and daily use.

Chair-X 是 模块化可变家具系统 的一个原型。该系统的设计理念源自“积木式”的逻辑，通过标准化模块的组合与分解，生成全新的功能构型。
作为一把 张拉椅（Tensile Chair），它由两类互补的构件组成：刚性的 压杆（CNC 加工的铝合金）与柔性的 拉索和织物（尼龙材质）。拉索通过打结和张紧来稳定结构，而压杆则提供强度和刚度。
这两种力量相互作用，形成完整的张拉—受压平衡，使这把椅子同时具备 结构的清晰性 与 功能的适应性，实现了工程原理与日常使用的优雅融合。
